Uganda has qualified for the Men’s T20 World Cup. The African country Uganda created a new history by qualifying for the ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup 2024.

By defeating Rwanda in the ICCT Twenty20 World Cup 2024 qualifiers, Uganda secured their place in next year’s T20 World Cup in West Indies and America.

In the T20 World Cup’s Africa Region Qualifier on Thursday, the Ugandan team defeated Rwanda easily by 9 wickets and qualified for the T20 World Cup for the first time, taking the second position on the points table.

 

The top 2 teams from the Africa region qualifiers were to play in next year’s T20 World Cup, with Namibia securing their place in the T20 by finishing first in the group ahead of Uganda.

After Uganda’s qualification, Zimbabwe, which was included in the Africa region qualifiers, is out of the race to qualify for the T20 World Cup 2024.

The 20-team line-up for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 has been completed after Namibia and Uganda qualified.

It should be noted that the T20 World Cup in 2024 will be the ninth tournament of this format, which will be hosted by the West Indies and the United States. This event will include 20 teams, which will be divided into four groups of 5, 5 teams each. The top 2 will qualify for Super 8. After that, the top two teams from 2 groups of 4, 4 will qualify for the semi-finals. This event will be played from June 4 to June 30.

West Indies member country Dominica has withdrawn from hosting the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 matches.

ICC has announced 7 West Indies and 3 USA venues for T20 World Cup 2024. Dominica was to host one first-round and two Super 8 matches.

However, the government of Dominica, a member country of the West Indies, says that they cannot prepare the infrastructure in time for the World Cup, and are withdrawing from the event due to incomplete preparations.

It should be noted that the T20 World Cup to be held in 2024 will be the ninth tournament of this format to be hosted by the West Indies and USA.

The event will feature 20 teams divided into four groups of 5 each, with the top 2 from each group qualifying for the Super 8s.

After that, the top two teams from 2 groups of 4, 4 will qualify for the semi-finals.

This event will be played from June 4 to June 30 with a total of 55 matches.
