Pakistan‘s third victory in the Azlan Shah Cup. In the ongoing 30th Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Malaysia, Pakistan proved their position as strong contenders for the final of the event by defeating Canada by 4-5 goals.

Pakistan has managed to make a place as the favorite team for the final with a total of 10 points in four matches on the points table. Pakistan won the bronze medal in the last event by winning the third-place match.

Pakistan defeated Canada in their fourth pool match in the ongoing Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Ipoh, Malaysia.

Pakistan started the match with the new goalkeeper Muneebur Rahman, but Canada put Pakistan under pressure by scoring 2 field goals with the help of Sean Davis in the 5th minute and Harbir Sidhu in the 17th minute. Pakistan ended this advantage by scoring goals in the 28th and 29th minutes of the game by Abubakar Mehmood.

After half-time, the Pakistan team’s experienced goalkeeper Abdullah Ishtiaq Khan took charge of Pakistan‘s goalpost.

Arshad Liaquat in the 36th minute of the third quarter, Rana Waheed Ashraf in the 44th minute, and Ghazanfar Ali in the 45th minute stabilized Pakistan’s lead by scoring goals.

Sean Davis scored a field goal in the 45th minute of the game for Canada. In the 50th minute of the game on behalf of Canada, Oujot Buttar scored a field goal to reduce Canada’s goal deficit, but the margin of victory was in favor of Pakistan.

Six teams are participating in the event, including hosts Malaysia, Pakistan, Korea, Japan, New Zealand, and Canada. Will play at noon.
