Netherlands beat Bangladesh for their second win in the event

The Netherlands beat Bangladesh for their second win in the event. In the 28th match of the ICC ODI World Cup, the Netherlands defeated Bangladesh by 87 runs.

In the match played at Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata, Netherlands captain Scott Edwards won the toss and decided to bat.

The Netherlands team was bowled out for 229 runs in the allotted 50 overs. Captain Scott Edwards scored 68 runs on behalf of the Dutch team, Wesley Bracey scored 41 runs and Sybrand scored 35 runs.

 

For Bangladesh, Mustafizur Rehman, Shariful Islam, Mehdi Hasan, and Tasin Ahmed took 2 and 2 wickets respectively.

The Bangladeshi team failed to chase down the target of 230 runs and the entire team was bowled out for 142 runs in 42.2 overs. Mehdi Hasan Miraz scored 35, Mahmoodullah and Mustafizur Rehman scored 20 and 20 runs respectively for Bangladesh.

On behalf of the Netherlands, Paul van Meekren scored 23 runs dismissed 4 players, and was declared the player of the match.
