India’s record win against SriLanka. In the 33rd match of the World Cup, India defeated Sri Lanka by a huge margin of 302 runs, the Indian team became the first team to reach the semi-finals.

In the match played at the Wankhede Stadium, the Sri Lankan team was bowled out for 55 runs in 19.4 overs in pursuit of 358 runs given by India and India won by 302 runs to get their seventh consecutive victory.

Only three Sri Lankan players could get into double figures.

Angelo Mathews returned to the pavilion scoring 12, Mahesh Thakshana remained not out with 12 runs, and Kisan Rajitha scored 14 runs and was the target of Mohammad Shami.

Five Sri Lankan players were out for zero including opener Pathan Nissanka, Karuna Ratne, Sudheera Samarawakarma, Dushan Himantha, and Dushamatha Chimera.

On behalf of India, Mohammad Shami guided five players to the pavilion, Mohammad Siraj took three wickets, and Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja took one wicket each.

Earlier, batting first, India scored 358 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted overs and set Sri Lanka a target of 359 runs to win.

Shubman Gill played a brilliant innings of 92 runs, Virat Kohli scored 88 runs, and Shreyas Iyer played an electrifying innings of 82 runs off 56 balls.

Captain Rohit Sharma was the target of Madhushanka after scoring 4 runs, KL Rahul was out after scoring 21 runs, Surya Kumar Yadav was out after scoring 12 runs, and Ravindra Jadeja was out after 35 runs.

For Sri Lanka, Dilshan Madhushanka guided five players to the pavilion, Chimera taking one wicket.

Sri Lanka won the toss and invited India to bat first.

In recent head-to-head matches, India has a clear advantage over Sri Lanka. So far, both the teams have played 167 matches, in which 98 matches were won by the Indian team while 57 matches were won by Sri Lanka, but India has won in the last 11 matches.

The two teams have faced each other 8 times in the World Cup and are tied with four victories each.
