Big upset in T20 World Cup USA beat Pakistan in Super Over. In the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, America pulled off a big upset by defeating Pakistan in the Super Over and won the event for the second time in a row.

America gave Pakistan a target of 19 runs to win in the Super Over, the national team could only score 13 runs.

In the Group A match played at Dallas, USA captain Monanik Patel won the toss and invited Pakistan to bat first.

Pakistan scored 159 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs, captain Babar Azam with 44 runs and Shadab 40 runs.

America needed 5 runs off the last ball to win the match, American batsman Nitish Kumar hit Haris Rauf for a boundary and the match was tied.

Against the USA, Pakistan faced difficulties in the beginning, 3 top-order batsmen of the national team were dismissed for a total score of 26 runs in the power play.

Muhammad Rizwan 9, Usman Khan 3, and Fakhar Zaman returned to the pavilion by scoring 11 runs while Shadab batted brilliantly but he also left the team on 40 runs and then Azam Khan was dismissed for zero.

Apart from this, Babar Azam got out after scoring 44 runs off 43 balls while Iftikhar Ahmed could score 18 runs. Shaheen Afridi batted well in the final overs, he remained unbeaten by scoring 23 runs off 16 balls.

On behalf of America, Notosh Kenji dismissed 3 players, Saurabh took 2 wickets, and Ali Khan took one wicket.

In response to Pakistan’s target of 160, USA batted confidently, with the batsmen pushing the score. Captain Monanik Patel played a brilliant innings of 50 runs while Indis Ghose scored 35 runs.

Steve Taylor was out for 12. After 3 wickets fell for 111, Arun Jones and Nitish Kumar took the match to the last over, USA needed 5 runs off the last ball.

Nitish Kumar leveled the match by hitting Haris Rauf for a boundary and the match was decided in the Super Over.

Arun Jones remained unbeaten with 36 and Nitish Kumar scored 14 runs. Mohammad Amir, Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf took one wicket each for Pakistan.

In the Super Over, America scored 18 runs while batting first and the green shirts got a target of 19 runs.

In response, Iftikhar Ahmed and Fakhar Zaman came to the crease on behalf of Pakistan, they too could not win the match for the team.

Chasing 19 runs, Pakistan managed to score 13 runs for one wicket and faced an upset defeat at the hands of America.

This is USA’s second win in the current World Cup, beating Canada in the first match. After the win against Pakistan, USA came to the top position in Group A with 4 points.
