In the match played at the Chanaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, captain Babar Azam won the toss and invited Australian captain Pat Cummins to bat first, after which Mitchell Marsh and David Warner opened the innings for Australia.

Earlier in this World Cup, Sri Lanka had scored 344 runs against Pakistan on October 10.
A change in the team
Osama Mir was included in the playing eleven of the national team against Australia instead of Shadab Khan.

Adam Zampa of Australia dismissed 4 players by giving 53 runs while Cummins and Stoins took 2 wickets.
